Yorkhill Children's Foundation

Forrest Group have come up with an exciting way of turning the adverse effects of the credit crunch around.
In a year when advertising revenues appear to be less bouyant than previous years, we realised a number of our billboards may go void during periods in 2009. Rather than focusing on the negative aspects of this, we saw the potential for turning this into an exciting opportunity and we have donated all void advertising space in and around Glasgow to Yorkhill Children's Foundation - the charity which provides all the "extra" services and medical equipment which help make a stay in hospital less distressing for the sick children who come to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill, Glasgow. This donation, worth around £1 million to the charity, has given Yorkhill Children's Foundation a platform to highlight their own campaign that children continue to become unwell regardless of the financial crisis and need our help more than ever. Hard-hitting advertisements illustrating that sick children should not feel the effects of the credit crunch were unveiled on Monday 6th April on billboards throughout Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
Shona Cardle, Executive Director of Yorkhill Children's Foundation said: "We are overwhelmed with the decision of the Forrest Group to help us in this way and cannot thank them enough for helpiong sick children in what is a difficult economic environment. It is wonderful to see our message so prominent throughout the city, thereby reaching such a wide audience. We urge people to visit www.helpsickkids.org today and, by making a donation, help sick kids survive not only their illness, but also the effects of the credit crunch".
Cestrian Imaging, the large format digital printers based in Cheshire, very generously donated the printing of the billboards.
Forrest have also rolled out the campaign to the East of Scotland and are providing the same service for Edinburgh Sick Kids Foundation for 2009. www.edinburghsickkids.org
